A few FAQs

My wedding photography FAQs.

After nearly 20 years photographing weddings in North Wales and Cheshire I have compiled a few FAQs that I almost always get asked. Hopefully your questions are answered here.

Describe your style.

I am not a traditional North Wales wedding photographer. 90% of the images captured at your wedding will be candid, natural and unposed “real moments”. That means 10% of your wedding day is for the all important family group photos, and time with you, the couple. I will not be the photographer that stops all the fun just to say “smile”.

Will you photograph groups?

Yes I will. If they are important to you then I am there to photograph the family groups. We get them done quickly, with minimum fuss, so that you can get on with having the best time ever.

Where are you based? Do you travel?

I live in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. I’ve been all over the UK covering weddings. Travel to mainland UK venues are included in the cost. If you want your wedding abroad please contact me. All travel costs will be charged to you at cost. I will not charge you more than I am charged.

When should we book you?

ASAP please. Since I cannot “hold” dates, dates are booked when when they’re booked. Most of my wedding clients book a year or more in advance. You may be lucky if you contact me late but you do run the risk of me being unavailable.

Will you photograph LGBTQ weddings?

I have been photographing LGBTQ weddings since 2013, and I am always delighted to be a small part of any couples’ wedding days. Love wins!!

How many pictures do we get?

Probably one of the most asked questions, and worthy of being in my wedding photography FAQs. The number of photographs you will receive depends on many things – the number of guests, hours of coverage, and what your guests are up to. I work on quality rather than quantity. As such please expect 500-700 images.

Do you have insurance?

Of course I do. Personal liability and public liability. I’d be mad not to!

Will you hold the date for me please?

To hold any date I need a signed booking contract and your 25% deposit. This applies to every single booking I take, so it is fair to each and every couple who enquires.

Can we have two photographers?

A second photographer is an optional extra? For just £400 they’ll be with us for the whole time I am with you. Two photographers mean two different perspectives on the wedding day, and more photos of your guests having the best day ever.

What happens if you’re ill on our wedding day?

I am in many networks of top notch wedding photographers, and on the off chance one of us can’t make a wedding for any reason the call goes out. There’s always somebody free that day, so you’ll NEVER be left without a photographer.

Do you share our pictures on social media?

Yes, but only with your permission.
I only ever share pictures that make you look good, AND me look good.

That’s my most common FAQs.

If you are still concerned about any part of the booking process, or your wedding day, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Ask me anything that’s bugging you and I’ll answer it honestly.
