Wedding photographer at Bodnant Welsh food centre- Tony Fanning photography

A little while ago I photographed Laura and James’s wedding at the Hayloft restaurant in the beautiful Bodnant Welsh food centre in the Conwy valley.

With stunning views along the valley there are few places more picturesque.

It was such a shame then that the Welsh weather decided to be at its worst for the wedding. Normally if there is a bit of rain we know that at some point during the day there will be a break in the clouds and we can pop outside for some bride and groom portraits. Sadly this did not happen. As the day went on the rain got heavier and heavier. That meant all the wedding portraits and family groups were done inside.  Because of this I have decided to invite the bride and groom to have their own private shoot at Bodnant in July so they can get dressed up again and get those important photographs outside.

*EDIT- If you scroll to the bottom of this post you’ll be able to see a few of the portraits we got when we went back to Bodnant a few weeks after the wedding. It was a lovely dry evening. No pressure, no guests, no timings to stick too. I think we should do this more often 🙂

Despite the rain the wedding was actually really lovely. The Tenovus choir sang, there were tears during the speeches and a properly choreographed first dance. Laura and James used the services of Colette and David from DanceAbility to train them up to do a proper dance for their first dance. A few weeks after Laura and James’s wedding we went back to Bodnant and spent an hour photographing them, getting the outdoor portraits we didn’t manage to get during the wedding because of the weather.
