Get In Touch
Emma and Felix’s Llanbedrog and Abersoch tipi wedding was a real joy. They were both on the same wavelength as me, with the focus of the whole day on having a good time. Standing around, posing for portraits was to be kept to the absolute minimum, which is exactly my idea of a good time.
I met up with Emma the girls getting ready in Porth Tocyn hotel, with everyone in excellent spirits. This is the venue where I first met Emma. She was one of the bridesmaids at her sister’s wedding a few years ago. That too was a rather brilliant day.
Looking out of the hotel window where they were getting ready, you could see the tipi that was set up for the partying later that day. There aren’t that many better views from a tipi- with Abersoch bay stretching out in front of us.
An outdoor amphitheatre ceremony
The wedding ceremony was a short drive away in the red London bus, in the beautiful village of Llanbedrog. Next to Oriel Glyn y Weddw is an amphitheatre set up high and overlooking the coast, and that’s where they chose to exchange their vows. As you will notice in the pictures it is fully exposed, and open to the elements. It wasn’t promising great weather, so I asked Emma what the wet weather plan was, and she just smiled and said ” I have waterproof mascara”!! Got to love that attitude 🙂
Abersoch beach is important to both Emma and Felix, so after the most magnificent confetti drive-through we headed to the beach for about five minutes for a couple of bride and groom portraits.
Back at the tipi in the grounds of Porth Tocyn we had a fantastic dinner followed by some of the funniest, and touching speeches.
The Black Hat Band got the evening under way, and it was just brilliant to see a packed dance floor again. It was jumping for hours!! Felix even took control of the drums for a high energy rendition of Wipeout.
Their first dance was followed by a beautiful dad and daughter dance, which had most of the ladies in tears.
What now then, we love your photography at this Llanbedrog and Abersoch tipi wedding?
As always, at every wedding, there is more to weddings than portraits. As this beautiful wedding proves 🙂
