Wales wedding photographer of the year 2024

I only went and won a thing! Cue my shocked face!!
Being voted North Wales BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER 2024 at the awards was such a shock. I honestly thought anyone but me would win, but hey, I did it!!
On Sunday 27th October it was the third North Wales wedding awards. Held in Venue Cymru, Llandudno for the first time. It was a very glitzy affair, with the best of the North Wales wedding industry there, celebrating another busy year of weddings. The black and gold theme suited the event perfectly.

Nearly all the attendees are all small businesses, and many of us work on our own a lot of the time. This was the perfect antidote to that isolation. An evening to let our hair down and have some fun.

Compering the evening was Welsh singer-songwriter, television and radio presenter Elin Fflur. She did a cracking job of introducing all the people announcing the winners from each section. A big thank you to Martin Vaughan photography for the excellent photos from the awards.

Not only was I voted North Wales wedding photographer of the year 2024, I was also voted WALES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2024 at the WELSH NATIONAL WEDDING AWARDS in Swansea in November. I didn’t actually go down to those awards, so no photos of my shocked face, but I do have the beautiful slate awards sat in my office.

Nail biting, but fun too

We had to wait for what seemed like ages for our category to be announced. Three quarters of the other categories had gone by when they finally reached the best wedding photographer in North Wales category.

The photography category was filled with such talented photographers I was sure it would go to someone else, so when I heard my name called I couldn’t quite believe it. The walk up to the stage looked ominously long, with a couple of steps up to collect the award. At least I didn’t trip up and land on my face 🙂 Being voted North Wales wedding photographer of the year 2024 has made my year!!!!! It’s especially amazing as it is voted for by couples that have been photographed by me. Not a panel of ‘experts’, but genuine couples getting married.

The look of shock on my face was genuine, and I’m still feeling a bit of imposter syndrome here.

Thank you to each and every couple that took time to vote for me at the North Wales wedding awards. Without you I wouldn’t be sat here feeling incredibly lucky, happy and thankful. This has inspired me to go forward and be better next year.

Thank you also to all the people involved in the North Wales industry. As I have already mentioned we are all small businesses and many of us work on our own a lot of the time. We try to help each other to make sure our couples have the best wedding day ever- the one they dreamt about when they started planning their special day.
