A summer wedding at Bodnant Welsh food centre

Well, Erin and Ioan’s summer wedding at Bodnant Welsh food centre was the definition of a North Wales wedding. We had ALL the weather- from wind and driving rain to sunshine and blue skies.

Erin and her bridesmaids were all getting ready together. I felt like I had stepped into an episode of Glee, as most (maybe all?) were professional singers. Erin is an award winning mezzo soprano and her and her ‘maids were constantly singing. I do too, but I get a very different reaction when I sing 🙂

It was lovely to see ‘Sara Roberts hair’ doing her thing with everyone’s hair again, and ‘Makeup by Celine’ made sure everyone looked flawless.

A wedding in Bryn y Maen

I met up with Ioan and all the other guests at my local church in Bryn y Maen. Literally a stone’s throw from my home, it’s always nice to photograph weddings there.

During the wedding ceremony some of the bridesmaids and guests treated everyone to a couple of amazing minutes of the best operatic singing I have heard in a long time.

The bride and groom met up with their little doggo after the ceremony. Definitely need more dogs at weddings!!

A walk around Bodnant garden in the rain

Yep, it wouldn’t be a Welsh wedding without a bit of rain would it. Just as we reached the entrance to the garden the rain started, and it just got heavier and heavier. That didn’t stop us and the videographers from FFAB videography from just getting on with it. My mantra is ‘if the bride can go outside so can I’.

We spent a good while wandering around the garden, and it was weirdly quiet there, but I can’t think why 🙂 The garden was still beautiful at the end of a really hot summer, and probably needed a drink.

The beautiful Hayloft restaurant for your summer wedding at Bodnant Welsh food

As always Olivia and her team at Bodnant Welsh food really made the restaurant looks lovely. It’s a homely kind of venue, with exposed beams and an open fire, it’s perfect for a relaxed wedding.

After the traditional family and group photos it was time for food and speeches.

After a day of rain and wind it was amazingly wonderful to finally see some sunshine in the evening. The timing was perfect! The food and speeches were done, the band was setting up for the evening dancing, the sun was out, and so were we.

A quick walk around Bodnant Welsh food enjoying the view down the Conwy valley, and letting Erin and Ioan relax away from the hustle of their wedding day.

Yes, the sun was out but it did still decide to rain on us too at the same time. Got to love a summer wedding at Bodnant Welsh food centre 🙂

Time to dance

For many this is the best part of any wedding day, and Erin and Ioan’s wedding didn’t disappoint. Their first dance was lively and fun, and then so was the dancefloor when everyone joined them. The band, ‘The Fuse’, were on great form, keeping the dancefloor busy all night.

All in all it really was a tip top day. Thank you to Erin and Ioan for an amazing summer wedding at Bodnant Welsh food centre.
