Some more lovely kind words from real couples.
It’s always nice when clients take time to recommend me, write kind words, a nice note or card and write testimonials and reviews to express how they felt on receiving their wedding photographs.
It leaves a warm fuzzy feeling inside this old north Wales wedding photographer 🙂
Testimonials and reviews go a long way to reassure future brides and grooms when they come to make the important decision of choosing the right photographer.
Here are a few lovely messages from my wedding clients.
Anna and Gwion’s North Wales farm wedding
“We can’t recommend Tony enough. He has captured our wedding perfectly! Not only that, Tony has been very helpful with everything over the last year with having to postpone our wedding due to covid, and having to rearrange our plans. We absolutely love our pictures and everyone has commented saying how good the pictures are.
Siân and Rhys’s wedding at Bron Eifion
“Tony was absolutely brilliant throughout the whole wedding process! He was informative and helpful during the initial booking, offering lots of advice and helping us create the photo memories we were after. Unfortunately our initial wedding date was postponed from May 2020 to September 2020 due to Covid, however Tony was brilliant and accommodated our needs. Tony was easy going and professional, capturing beautiful candid shots of moments throughout the day that we may have otherwise missed. The photographs and slideshow we received are absolutely stunning, and it was lovely looking back and reliving it all over again! Overall we are so delighted we chose Tony as our wedding photographer and would definitely recommend! We couldn’t have asked for better photographs of our special day – Thank you so much!”

“Tony was recommended to us from Bodnant, the farmhouse where we were renewing our vows. His gallery pics sold it to us. He captured our day perfectly and even though the weather wasn’t too kind to us, he still managed to capture some amazing pictures outside. A top fella as well. Would highly recommend.”

“Tony was one of the first people we booked for our wedding. We knew that we would be looking back on our photos for years to come so choosing the right photographer was very important. We could not have chosen better then Tony! We love all our photos – they are stunning! Tony has managed to capture every moment of the day beautifully. We love all the natural photos of our guests that Tony has captured. He goes the extra mile to make sure he gets all the special shots, such as lying on the grass and more or less standing in a river! Mum had been dreading photographs on the day as she hates having her photos taken but Tony completely put her at ease during the day. Mum said she hardly noticed he was there and he has had some brilliant natural photos of her. After the wedding we were invited to his studio to view our pictures. Tony had made a slideshow of our pictures – it was just like reliving the day again. Since then I haven’t stopped looking at the photos – each one is perfect. We had the best day, and because of Tony we now have beautiful photos to treasure and cherish forever. Thank you so much Tony.”

“Everything about having Tony as our wedding photographer was great and far beyond what we expected. He was relaxed and funny and we all felt so comfortable and natural from start to finish. Tony is a truly incredible photographer and generally lovely person, he felt like a friend at our wedding, and whilst making sure he captured our day perfectly he also helped us enjoy our wedding to the absolute fullest. In hindsight Tony was really our Photographer, Director of Operations and Moral Support Coordinator so we cannot say thank you enough!!
We absolutely love that he captured so many candid moments which really tell the story of the day, and looking through our pictures we have been able to relive every moment. What’s incredible is that we not only have pictures to remind us of the stand out hilarious memories, but also some of the smallest moments of true happiness that were really just seconds of a day but will always remind us of how amazing it all was.
We have a beautiful collection of pictures which we are so happy with and we are truly grateful to Tony for showing our day so honestly. There wasn’t hours of posed or directed pictures, which is exactly how we wanted it, and as a result we have a catalogue of pictures of both James and I and all our guests enjoying the day we looked forward to for so long.
Tony’s amazing service didn’t just stop after our wedding day, the time and effort he put in to preparing our pictures and the slideshow he put together for us to watch at his studio was above and beyond what we expected. It means so much to us that he spent his time making sure our wedding experience was so great. We would recommend Tony to anyone!

“Tony, we just wanted to say a massive thank you for everything you did to capture the beauty of our wedding day for us to cherish forever. Even though I worried about every aspect of planning the wedding I knew there was no need to worry about the photographs at all as you would, and did take care of it all. You managed all of my requests and our huge crowd of guests so easily and so professionally. Nothing was too much trouble before, during or after our wedding. You were the much need calm in the storm!
Our wedding photographs are simply stunning, and I am so grateful that you managed to capture so many precious moments.
Thank you so much. We will definitely be using you for our future events- no hesitation.

“Tony photographed our wedding in February and has been absolutely fantastic from start to finish!!
Myself and my husband loved his style of photography immediately from looking online and we felt he really captures the happiness of people’s special day.
Tony has been so supportive throughout the whole wedding process and goes the extra mile to make sure your comfortable and happy with everything.
The slideshow and photographs we have received are incredible and we are absolutely thrilled with how the day has been captured.
We have been to many weddings as guests and seen many photographers at work but we feel like Tony has easily been the best. He has the perfect approach on the wedding day, very relaxed and makes you feel instantly comfortable but equally you truly know everything is in control and we felt 100% confident he would do an amazing job (which he did!)
Thank you so much we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer.
We would HIGHLY recommend Tony Fanning! FANTASTIC!”

Lauren and Liam’s wedding at Seiont Manor
“I’m sure like many couples planning a wedding, choosing the right photographer was one of the most important decisions myself and Liam had to make.
I came across Tony through both recommendation and social media where I fell in love with his style of photography immediately. Having enquired with a number of photographers comparing prices and offers I initially didn’t think we would be able to afford Tony within our budget as his work was head and shoulders above the rest, so we assumed the price list would be too.
When we finally bit the bullet and contacted Tony, he was incredibly approachable, friendly, helpful AND within our budget which we didn’t expect for such high quality photography.
As a couple who were planning a wedding in Wales from England, Tony was fantastic in ensuring continuous communication to personalise our photography with regular updates which made the planning process so much easier.
On the day of the wedding itself, Tony was incredible from start to finish. Myself and Liam aren’t in our comfort zone in front of a camera and dreaded a day of what we thought would be a camera following us around. We couldn’t have been more wrong.
From the moment Tony arrived he was dressed smartly with bags of enthusiasm and a smile on his face. Within minutes he blended in as part of our day. In fact, we were both so relaxed around Tony that we actually forgot he was there, as did a lot of our guests haha! Working around the very British weather, Tony made sure all the most important photos were taken swiftly. He was organised and efficient in arranging the family shots and prioritised myself and Liam to have some time and photos together.
Following the wedding, we were amazed to see Tony had already began working on our photos when he posted a couple of examples that very night. We were blown away by the ‘sneak peek’ sample and fortunately didn’t have to wait long before we were invited back to the studio to see all our photos together.
All of our family and friends are raving about Tony’s photography even a month on. One thing in particular everyone has said is how much time and effort Tony put in on the day and that they have ‘never seen a photographer blend in so well and take so many beautiful photos’ .
A five star rating really isn’t enough. Tony is an artist. He captures moments, turning them into everlasting memories for you to look back on and enjoy over and over again. We really can not recommend you enough and wish you all the very best in the future.”

“We would like to say a BIG thank you to Tony Fanning for all of his hard work. Picking the right photographer can be hard but as soon as I saw Tony’s work i knew he was perfect for us. Tony captures all of those special moments so elegantly. We were so pleased with our photo’s.
Tony felt like part of the family for the day and he made everyone feel relaxed.
Thanks again for our amazing photos Tony. I couldn’t of asked for anything more.”

Lucy and Neil’s wedding in Seiont Manor
“When we started planning our wedding during the Autumn of 2015, we knew that one of the most important decisions we had to make was who was going to photograph our special day. After all, photographs are the memories you keep forever so it wasn’t a decision we were going to make lightly.
Along with recommendations from friends and a peek at his Facebook page, we decided to make an appointment to meet with Tony at his studio. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home, and we got to know each other pretty quickly. It was important to us that our photographer be relaxed and undemanding; someone who would ‘blend into the background’ and get the job done to a high standard. As we drove home we had no doubt that Tony was the person we were looking for.
A few months before our July 2016 wedding we met with Tony on the West Shore of Llandudno for our pre-wedding photo shoot. We had so much fun in front of the camera as Tony took both posed and natural shots. And when we saw the photographs shortly after all we could think was wow, if these are this amazing what are out wedding photos going to be like?!
The 29th of July arrived. Our wedding day! Tony arrived at my dad’s house where the pre-wedding preparations were in full swing. He made himself at home and familiarised himself with both inside and outside of the house, taking action shots and creative photos of the finer details. Shortly after he dashed to the church to photograph Neil and his groomsmen and the guests arriving.
The day was magical. From sunrise to the last dance, everything was perfect. Tony could easily have been mistaken for one of our guests as he really did blend in. To be honest, there were times when you wouldn’t have even known he was there, snapping away! So many of our family and friends commented on how good a photographer he was.
When we returned from our honeymoon a few weeks later, we were invited back to Tony’s studio to view our wedding photographs. We were blown away! They were absolutely stunning. Which made the decision of which photos to print for the living room very difficult!
As cliché as it sounds, it really was the best day of our lives. And thanks to Tony, we have the most amazing memories to keep with us forever.”

When we first got engaged, the first thing that we both decided on was that we must get Tony as our photographer. Having been to previous friends and family’s weddings and met Tony and seen his work, we knew that he was the one for our wedding too! In fact, Tony was the first supplier that we booked! On the wedding day itself Tony arrived looking smartly dressed as always, and we barely noticed him there, he was so discreet but yet again got the best photographs! Many of our friends and family have commented on how amazing our pictures are, we are so pleased with Tony’s work. He went out of his was to make sure he got the best photos for us – and even agreed to take the group photo by standing in the raised scoop of my father’s tractor! We have know got our album which we love showing to people. The pictures are a reflection of the magical day that we had, and thanks to you Tony we have memories of our amazing wedding day forever! We will most definitely be recommending you to any engaged friends and family!

Sophie and Phil’s wedding at Plas Isaf, Corwen
Having a great photographer was in our top three super wishes for the wedding (the other two being great venue and great music). We went to many a wedding fayre, saw many sample albums, however, my husband who has an interest in photography was mostly unimpressed with comments like “that’s too photoshopped” or “the lighting is all wrong” and I agreed with most of his comments not that either of us are professionals’ haha. However, he and friends kept mentioning “Tony Fanning”.
A few friends, as well as my husband’s sister had all told me about how lovely this man was and how professional so of course I asked to see the albums, and they were stunning! I was sold although I think my husband’s heart was set on Tony from the beginning haha. As soon as we emailed him to save the date he was incredible, very approachable, eager to know if you had any questions, fantastic at getting back in touch and also wanted to know if there were any specific shots we wanted!
During the day Tony and his assistant were great, they didn’t get in the way, put up with me being cold and grumpy and just eased us through the staged shots with humour and a gentleness (as we, more me than my husband, were pretty rubbish at these). Everyone commented on how friendly and unobtrusive the dynamic duo were.
They captured our day so well, from beginning to end. Somehow managed to capture the atmosphere of the day in every shot.
Forever grateful for the beautiful pictures and memories you were able to capture and we will now be able to cherish for years to come.
Thank you both for the amazing support throughout the whole process, it has been fab getting to know you and we hope to see you again in the future if we are lucky enough to have children and want some family portraits!

Elinor and Nick, married at Hendre Hall near Bangor
“From the moment we met Tony in his driveway and he welcomed us with a big smile and a ‘Come on in… tea, coffee…Jammy dodger?’, Nick and I looked at each other, smiled and we knew this is who would be our wedding photographer. As with most people I’m sure, Nick and I dislike most photos of us and neither of us feel particularly comfortable in front of a camera (or behind it for that matter). When planning our wedding budget… to be honest a photographer was quite far down the list with good food, perfect venue and a good party being the top of our list. As the planning continued, more and more people were saying… ‘make sure you get a good photographer’, ‘the photos will be the one thing you will keep forever (well that and your new husband/wife , of course!). Slowly we came round to the idea that maybe we should be listening to these well-meaning friends….so we met a couple of local photographers without clicking with any. Then we met Tony… as described above. When we were looking at the photos in his studio I said ‘it looks like nobody even seems to know you are there….the photos are so natural’. Tony said ‘ that’s my job!’. Fast forward 10 months to the morning after our wedding …. I said to Nick… ‘I hardly saw Tony….what if he didn’t get many good photos…panic, panic….!’. I couldn’t have been more wrong! Tony and his assistant Chris were amazing – so easy to be around and as I said apart from the more posed shots I didn’t even notice they were there. We have some keen photographers as friends who took time to watch Tony at work and were thoroughly mesmerised…at his professionalism, easy going attitude and the skills he used. When we received our photos we were blown away! My mum just couldn’t stop looking at them for weeks (neither could I) and I love looking at them now 9 months later and I am sure we will love them in years to come. Thank you for being the perfect photographer for us.”

“I was really anxious when it came to picking the right photographer for our big day, but it turned out to be one of the easiest and best decisions we made. We stumbled across Tony’s work as we searched for photographers who worked in the area, straight away we were drawn to Tony’s work by his professional website and as we looked through his previous work it was quirky and stylish but still felt natural and relaxed. We felt ourselves getting more and more excited at the thought of Tony being our photographer. Just by looking at his website we knew he was head and shoulders above anybody else.
That day we contacted Tony who responded within the hour and the following day we were sat in front of him in his homely studio. Tony is a warm friendly person who instantly puts you at ease, his enthusiasm shines through and we couldn’t wait to have as part of the wedding. Tony showcased some of his work leaving us imagining what our ‘hero’ shot would look like. Myself and my husband went away really excited and booked Tony the day after.
In the build up to the wedding Tony was in regular contact really getting a feel for what we wanted on the day, before the wedding Tony sent us an itinerary to fill out which made the day really easy as Tony knew exactly what we wanted and made the process of getting through the pictures effortless.
On the day its self Tony felt like a guest he was fantastic and as a surprise package was his right hand man Chris who helped Tony throughout the day, both really put you at ease and made the photo’s fun. Many of our guests commented on Tony and Chris and how brilliant they were and what a first class job they had done on the day. Our wedding party was 120 people but Tony’s organisational skills meant that all the pictures were done in no time at all.
We couldn’t wait to see our pictures and didn’t have to wait long Tony gave us some sneak peeks and on returning from Honeymoon went back to Tony’s studio to collect our pictures. We couldn’t have been happier with the results Tony captured our wedding day perfectly and the presentation of our memories was excellent. Tony had a keen eye for photo opportunities which gave us our ‘hero’ shot on top of the rock takes pride and place in our living room and made a great thank you card. One of our favourite extras that Tony did was his blog on our wedding, it was a great memory for us and we enjoyed reading his thoughts of the day. We couldn’t recommend Tony enough and wish him all the best in the future.”

Catrin and Llion, married in Llanegryn
“We had seen another wedding that you had done through a mutual friend and loved the relaxed natural aspect of your pictures. After meeting you at your home studio we felt at ease and knew that we had made the right choice. From the initial first contact and the follow up process before the wedding your service was completely professional. Definitely glad we did the engagement shoot as it prepared us for the real day!
There was a bit of pressure in finding “the wedding photographer” as mum has always been known at the “family photographer” – but she instantly loved your pictures as they were very natural and not posed! Therefore the decision was made! During the wedding day, photographs were taken at ease with no intrusiveness to the flow of the day. All the required photos were taken and all essential family shots – and at various locations – you had ensured that the day had been captured from start to finish. This is certainly a strength as your pictures tell a story of the day! When we received the photos and watched the wedding slideshow – which is a total bonus and very useful, as I have shown it countless times to family members – and provides an extra touch with personalised music we were overwhelmed. Going through the photos was like reliving the day!
I could not state how happy we are with the photos and service and would definitely recommend you to others”

“Tony, I just wanted to say I totally love our wedding photos. You did such an amazing job and the confetti shot is mine and Ian’s phone screen wallpaper! Oh dear, that sounds vain!!!! I didn’t mean it like that, it’s not I like staring at myself like I’m Kim Kardashian, I just love how you capture people and moments and that confetti shot was exactly my dream photo from when I was a little girl. We lived near a church and we’d go down to watch the brides leave the church and me and my sister loved the confetti moment and I always wanted that at my wedding and you got the exact shot I imagined , perfectly captured, so thank you so much.”

Laura and James, married at Bodnant Welsh food centre
“We were really worried about booking the ‘right’ photographer as after speaking to friends, we understood how much the photographers presence affected your day and the memories you and your family have forever. When we first met Tony Fanning Photography jumped out at us at a wedding Fayre because of professional attitude and approach to wedding photography. We arranged to visit him at his studio so that we could look at albums and wedding slideshows. We decided to book with him. Tony has surpassed all expectations! The photos he took really captured everything about our day, from the personal touches that made the day our own, to the I-do’s and ours and our family and friends emotions and behaviour throughout the day. Then 6 months later looking back at the photographs warms out hearts, brings tears to our eyes and makes us laugh out loud. We cannot thank Tony enough – Thank you.”

Charlotte and Adam, married at the Quay hotel and Spa, Deganwy
“Having originally booked another local wedding photographer we thought we were happy with our choice until we attended my best friends wedding.. That’s when we met Tony! We were so impressed with his hard work and organisation on the day not to mention the incredibly beautiful photographs we decided to lose our pre paid deposit and pray that he was free for our wedding. Tony was there right from the word go, taking stunning photos of myself and my bridesmaids preparing for what was to come. Even though we had no idea he was even in the room he somehow has a calming presence – definitely what you need as a nervous bride! The ceremony pictures were amazing and our portraits were beyond beautiful. Even when Adam and I weren’t present he continued to photograph family and friends enjoying the day. He even managed to get a lovely group photo of everyone (160 Guests) which took a lot of patience!! He continued throughout the evening and captured some beautiful moments such as the first dance, cutting of the cake and a very special dance with my brother as unfortunately my father is no longer with us. Tony, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the beautiful memories we are now able to treasure forever.”

Leah and Edward, married at St. Georges hotel Llandudno
“Having met with a couple of photographers we were both certain that Tony was the photographer we wanted to work with on our wedding day. Tony was friendly, welcoming and helpful from the very start and we liked his approach to capturing what happened on the wedding day, rather than making us do lots of staged photos. Tony was easy to contact in the run up to the wedding and was happy to make suggestions and take on board our wishes. As we were both a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera we did an engagement shoot with Tony and we can’t recommend that highly enough as it gave us chance to relax and gave Tony a chance to learn more about our likes and dislikes. On the day itself Tony was a dream to work with. We felt like he captured everything we wanted but he didn’t dictate the schedule. Having previously attended weddings with dictator photographers we were keen to avoid that and we were delighted to hear from our guests how unobtrusive they found Tony. As for the photos themselves, they are everything we wanted and more. Watching the slide show of our wedding photos brought back such happy memories and it was really lovely seeing bits of the day that we’d not seen. The photos and the album all look fantastic and will give us memories to treasure forever. To sum up, to anyone looking for a wedding photographer we would wholeheartedly recommend Tony Fanning Photography. You won’t be disappointed. ”

“For someone who hates being photographed I thought finding a wedding photographer was going to be a nightmare. I didn’t want one but my husband to be did. We met with a few and then met Tony. He made me feel relaxed and at ease straight away when I told him my concerns. The main thing I’d say apart from his professionalism that stands out is his sense of humour. That’s what won us over he made me laugh and that worked wonders for the day. I didn’t feel self conscious as he was taking the photos I just enjoyed it. If you want someone that’s trust worthy, professional and makes you feel relaxed then Tony is your guy. He doesn’t do boring and run of the mill. He made our photos enhancement of our memories. Something we will keep forever and are proud to show.”

“A huge thank you for the integral role you played in our wedding this year. That really isn’t sufficient to cover the job you did, but from the first meeting, on through the engagement session, the day itself and showing us the resultant photo and designing the album afterwards, you have been absolutely brilliant to work with. You made us feel so at ease (and learning that being photographed can actually be fun!) and most importantly you made us look fantastic!
You have created images that we will treasure forever and we will always be grateful to you.”
With all best wishes for the future, Jo and Craig.

This what we loved about Tony, he just blended in with our guests and we didn’t feel that we had to pose all day which really put us at ease and enabled us to really enjoy our day. “Not only were we extremely lucky with the weather on our wedding day, we were also extremely fortunate to have booked Tony as our photographer. He impressed us at one of the local wedding fayres, both with the quality of his work and with his engaging personality. He never failed to deliver on our most important big day, the resulting photographs we will cherish forever. At the church he managed to get us all suitably arranged, whilst discretely remaining in the background at our reception and managing to capture some amazing photos. In short, if you are looking to have your wedding professionally recorded then look no further than Tony.”
